What is a Disabled Persons Housing Service (DPHS)?

A local Disabled Persons Housing Service (DPHS).

ICOD are presently putting together plans to open and operate a local DPHS covering the Inverclyde area, more details will appear on this site as they become available.

Below is some general information on Disabled Persons Housing Services that has been extracted from the website of HoDis, the National Disabled Persons Housing Service Ltd. www.hodis.org.uk

Individual Disabled Persons Housing Services can be very different. The existing services illustrate a range of different structures and emphases adopted, which reflect local circumstances.

DPHS staff tend to be specialists in disability and housing, and have excellent contacts with other agencies and organisations. A DPHS often brings together housing design and occupational therapy expertise to provide a uniquely integrated holistic service.
